Grand Slam Success

Goffin's debut at the 2012 French Open did not start well as he lost in the final round of qualifying. However, he was granted a place in the main draw after Gaël Monfils withdrew. Goffin went on to defeat Radek Štěpánek and Arnaud Clément in the first and second rounds, respectively. In the third round, he defeated Łukasz Kubot, becoming the first lucky loser to reach the fourth round of a Grand Slam tournament since Dick Norman at Wimbledon in 1995. Goffin's winning streak ended when he faced Roger Federer, winning the first set but ultimately losing the match.
