Former participant of the reality show "Dom 2," David Kalandadze, made the decision to join the show in order to launch his solo career. Understanding that the show business requires money to succeed, David took advantage of the opportunity given by the show's directors to write and perform songs, as well as tour with other participants throughout Russia.

Despite the controversies surrounding the show "Dom-2," thousands of people from all over Russia aspire to join the company "behind the glass." However, many do not fully understand the consequences of these "five minutes of fame." David Kalandadze, a former participant of the program, revealed some unpleasant details about the filming process and shared the future fate of the show's participants.
Seeking Fame without Talent
According to David, many individuals join "Dom-2" for various reasons, with some motivated by financial gain. Participants are paid differently, but on average, they earn around $300, which is considered a normal salary for those living in the regions. The more screen time a participant receives, the higher their rate. Some individuals purposely create scenarios to stand out, and David even revealed that some participants would discuss whether or not to argue on a particular day.
The Pitfalls of Instant Fame
David describes most of the inhabitants of "Dom-2" as unemployed individuals with low levels of intelligence, who have not found their place in life. They aspire to achieve quick and easy fame without possessing any talent or work ethic. Therefore, it is not surprising that after the show, they become irrelevant to the public. The sudden transition from being extremely popular to being nobody can be overwhelming for some. For example, David mentioned Roman Tertishny, also known as May, who disappeared and cannot be contacted. Rumor has it that he turned to Buddhism. May was an ambitious and aspiring star who believed that his life would be filled with success after the show. Unfortunately, it did not work out as planned, causing him great distress.
Life After "Dom-2"
On a positive note, some former participants of the show have managed to reinvent themselves and find happiness. Roman Tretyakov, for example, is now hosting a program called "Lochotron." He successfully married and became a father. Olga Buzova, another former participant, is now a host and is seen at various events. Their past on "Dom-2" does not weigh them down.
The Psychological Toll of "Dom-2"
Participating in "Dom-2" can be a mentally challenging experience. There are numerous restrictions and rules, with every move being monitored. For instance, even the toilets do not have locks, which made David, who is naturally shy, struggle to use them. Eventually, he resorted to using outdoor portable toilets. However, even that posed problems as Greenpeace began conducting regular inspections, as these cabins cannot be placed near water sources. Additionally, the show's directors would sometimes introduce irritating characters or participants with non-traditional sexual orientations, like Rustam, in order to enhance ratings. Although Rustam is a respectful person who never bothered David, such tactics added to the overall stress. In such situations, alcohol became the only escape. Officially, consuming alcohol on the show was prohibited, but they managed to sneak vodka into Coca-Cola bottles. David admits that after a few sips, life seemed to improve.
