David Moscow, an American actor, was born on November 14, 1974, in the Bronx, New York, USA. He grew up in a family with his parents, Pat and John Moscow, and a younger brother named Lev, who later became a history teacher in Bicentennial School in New York.
Education
David attended Central Park East High School and graduated in 1990. He then went on to study at Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts.
Early Career
In 1986, David Moscow made his debut on screen in the CBS comedy series "Kate & Allie," where he portrayed Eugene, a friend of the main character's younger son, Ellie. He then landed a more significant role in the comedy film "Big" in 1988, playing the 12-year-old version of the main character Josh, who wishes to become an adult. The adult version of Josh was played by Tom Hanks. David's charming and youthful appearance made him an ideal choice to portray the young Tom Hanks.
Continued Work
Following his successful role in "Big," David Moscow appeared in several television projects, including the drama film "I'll Be Home for Christmas" in 1988 and the ABC comedy series "Living Dolls," where he portrayed the character Eric "Rick" Carlin. He also starred in the CBS pilot episodes of the series "Live In."
In 1992, David Moscow secured one of the leading roles in Disney's family musical "Newsies," which tells the story of young newspaper distributors challenging newspaper magnates. He played the character David Jacobs, a friend of the main protagonist Jack "Cowboy" Kelly, portrayed by Christian Bale. David's brother, Lev, also had a small role in the musical.
After completing the filming of "Newsies," David took a break from acting for a few years. He returned to the screen in 1997, appearing in episodic roles in the comedy series "Seinfeld" and the crime drama "Streets of Laredo," starring Morgan Freeman.
