Early Life and Education

Armenian statesman, born into a prominent family, embarked on his career path with an essential role at the Ararat District Committee of the Komsomol from 1968 to 1969. Subsequently, he pursued higher education at the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute, graduating as an electronic engineer in 1975.

Academic Career and Party Activities

Following his graduation, he served as the secretary of the Komsomol at the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute, where he also held the position of head of the laboratory at the Department of Semiconductors and Microelectronics (1975-1981).

Administrative Experience

His administrative roles included positions as deputy director of educational and educational work at the Ararat Industrial Technology College (1981-1987), director of the construction materials combine at the Ararat Trust "Araratsin" (1987-1991), and deputy manager of the trust.

Political Career

In 1991, he became chairman of the executive committee of the Ararat District Council, transitioning to the role of Minister of Food and Supplies of Armenia from 1993 to 1995. His political involvement continued with his election as a member of parliament, where he served from 1995 to 1999, becoming a member of the Standing Committee on Financial, Budgetary, and Economic Issues.

Governance and Ministerial Positions

He held various ministerial positions, including Marzpet (Governor) of the Ararat Marz (1996-1998), Minister of Territorial Administration of Armenia (1998-1999), Minister of Energy of Armenia (1999-2000), Minister-Coordinator of Productive Infrastructure Activities of Armenia (2000-2002), and Minister of Agriculture of Armenia (2002-2003).

Later Life and Legacy

The statesman passed away after a prolonged illness on April 6, 2015. His contributions to the Armenian political landscape and his administrative acumen left a significant legacy on the nation.
