Italian racing driver
David Valsecchi is an Italian racing driver who has competed in various series, including Renault, Formula-3, and GP2.

Early career
From 2003 to 2005, Valsecchi participated in races in the Italian and German Formula-3 series, earning only one podium finish in three years. In 2005, he also raced in one event of the Formula 3000 Pro series, using old Formula-3000 cars.

Rise through the ranks
Valsecchi continued to climb the motorsport ladder, participating in various Renault series from 2003 to 2007. He progressed from the Italian Formula Renault and Formula Renault Eurocup to more powerful cars in the World Series by Renault in 2006. However, he only achieved his first victory in the 2007 season.

Le Mans Series and GP2
In 2006, Valsecchi competed in three races of the Le Mans Series for the Barazi Epsilon team in the LMP2 class, finishing on the podium in all of them. In 2008, he joined the Durango team for the GP2 series and the new GP2 Asia series alongside Alberto Valerio. However, his participation was cut short due to a crash during the qualifying session in Istanbul, where he reached speeds of 281 km/h. While the car was severely damaged, Valsecchi escaped serious injuries, except for a strong back contusion.
Return and first victory
After recovering from his injuries, Valsecchi returned to racing at Silverstone, where he earned one point in the sprint race. He later had another accident during the main race weekend in Spa, but luckily without any injuries. His breakthrough finally came at Monza, where he won the Sunday sprint race, marking his first victory in GP2.
Continued career in GP2
Valsecchi stayed with Durango for the 2008-09 GP2 Asia season and the 2009 GP2 season.
