Biography of Dawn Marie

Dawn Marie Psaltis, born on November 3, 1970, is an American professional wrestler and manager in the wrestling industry. She gained fame for her performances during the existence of Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), as well as her appearances on the show SmackDown! organized by WWE.

Early Life and Career Beginnings

Dawn Marie Psaltis grew up under the care of her father, who worked as a zoologist. In her childhood, she enjoyed watching television shows organized by the WWF federation, and her favorite wrestlers included Bob Backlund, Jimmy Snuka, and Roddy Piper. At the age of 22, Psaltis graduated from the New York School of Business and started working for a consulting firm in the real estate industry.

One day, Psaltis encountered her former boyfriend, who had always aspired to play professional American football and informed her that he had signed a contract with the "Chicago Bears" club. At that moment, Psaltis made the decision to quit her job and pursue a career in the entertainment industry as a model or actress.

Entry into Wrestling

By chance, Psaltis met Jonathan Gold, who was involved in promoting wrestlers. Psaltis jokingly expressed her intention to pursue a career in wrestling. Surprisingly, Gold took her comment seriously and later contacted Psaltis, inviting her to participate in one of the shows and play the role of manager for Tony Atlas during his match against Jimmy Snuka.

Psaltis made her wrestling debut in January 1995. In 1998, she was invited to participate in ECW matches. On August 28, 1998, she debuted as the manager of Lance Storm in a match against Chris Candido and his manager Tammy Lynn Sytch. Initially, Psaltis' involvement in the project was supposed to be limited to three weeks, but her success in the ring earned her a long-term contract.

Career in ECW and WWE

Dawn Marie's character was more awkward than enchanting, with her infatuation for Storm being a prominent aspect. After Storm left the project, Psaltis remained in ECW as a commentator. On December 3, 2000, she announced that she would become the manager of the winning pair in a match between Simon Diamond and Swinger against Christian York and Joey Matthews. Although York and Matthews emerged as the winners, Psaltis joined Simon and Swinger and remained their manager until ECW filed for bankruptcy in April 2001.

After participating in independent matches for a while and working in radio, Psaltis signed a contract with WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment). Her debut took place on May 30, 2002, in an episode of SmackDown! as Vince McMahon's referee. One of the most notable storylines involving Dawn Marie was her feud with Torrie Wilson. Psaltis' character planned to marry Wilson's father, but later developed feelings for Torrie herself, kissing her in the ring and proposing to cancel the wedding for a night at a hotel. As part of the storyline, Wilson's father died of a heart attack due to the honeymoon spent with Dawn Marie.

Dawn Marie's last appearance in WWE took place on the show ECW One Night Stand, after which her contract was put on hold due to her departure for maternity leave.
