David Luiz Moreira Marinho
Early CareerDavid Luiz, born in 1987, began his professional football career in 1998 with Nova-Iguaçu. He briefly played for Joinville before joining Santos in 2000. In 2001, he transferred to Corinthians, where he won two Campeonato Brasileiro titles and a Copa do Brasil.
European Sojourn and Return to Brazil
After a brief stint with Cruzeiro in 2003, Luiz moved to France and played for Bordeaux. However, he returned to Brazil the following year and rejoined Santos. In 2006, he signed with the Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon before making the switch to Turkish giants Fenerbahçe in 2006.
Fenerbahçe and Flamengo
Luiz spent four successful seasons with Fenerbahçe, winning the Süper Lig title and two Turkish Super Cups. In 2010, he returned to Brazil and joined Flamengo. He scored his first goal for the club in a match against Fluminense.
Later Career and Coaching
In 2012, Luiz moved to Coritiba, where he made a significant impact. He scored the winning goal in his debut, helping the team secure a victory against his former club, Santos.
After retiring from playing in 2015, Luiz began his coaching career. He was appointed head coach of Cruzeiro, where he had previously served as an assistant coach. However, his tenure was short-lived, and he was dismissed in 2016.
