Dina Shihabi, a multi-ethnic Saudi-European actress, was born on the autumnal equinox of 1989 in the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh. With her father's background blending Arab and Norwegian ancestry, and her mother's heritage embodying Palestinian, German, and Haitian roots, Shihabi's childhood was a melting pot of cultures. Education and Early Influences
Early on, Shihabi's love for film was matched by her passion for dance. She sought instruction from Sharmila Kamte, the "Queen of Emirati Dance," with the full support of her parents. Her education was a multifaceted affair, spanning the American curriculum Al-Mawakeb Al-Barsha School, the Emirates International School, and the American Academy in Dubai. Throughout her schooling, Shihabi actively participated in theater productions, receiving the encouragement of her teacher, Nancy Mock, to pursue an acting career. At the age of 18, she embarked on an educational journey to the United States, where she spent two years at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts before continuing her studies at the Juilliard School in New York City.
Film and Television Debut
Shihabi's acting debut came in the 2008 family drama "David," where she played the role of Aisha. In 2014, she took on a leading role in Shaun Mullen's dramedy "Amira & Sam," portraying a character that mirrored her own experiences at the crossroads of Islamic and Western cultures. Her portrayal of Needa Kazemi in two episodes of "Daredevil" and Hanin Suleiman in the first season of the spy series "Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan" further established her presence on the small screen.
