The creative destiny of Ukrainian theater and film actor Dmitry Lalenkov has been successful. His talent was blessed by the renowned actress Ada Rogovtseva, and his filmography includes dozens of roles on stage and on the big screen. Although his personal life seemed happy at first glance, it turned out to be full of hidden passions.

Childhood and Youth

Dmitry Lalenkov was born on May 4, 1966, in Kadyivka (now Stakhanov), in the Luhansk region. He grew up in a musical family, with his grandfather being a conductor and his father playing in a symphony orchestra. As a result, Dmitry absorbed music from an early age, singing in a choir and conducting. Another passion for the boy was boxing, in which he achieved significant success, becoming a champion of the USSR and the Ukrainian SSR.

Despite his musical background, Dmitry did not consider a career in acting. After finishing school, he enrolled in the R.M. Glier Kyiv Municipal Academy of Music, where he briefly studied vocal art. His artistic biography could have taken a different path if it weren't for his mandatory military service. It was during his military service that Dmitry befriended Konstantin Stepankov, the son of the famous actress Ada Rogovtseva. She recognized Dmitry's talent for acting and prepared him for admission to the I.K. Karpenko-Kary Theater, Cinema, and Television National University of Kyiv.

Theater and Films

In 1989, Dmitry Lalenkov joined the Lesya Ukrainka Russian Drama National Academic Theater, where he worked for nearly 15 years. During this time, he became one of the leading actors in the troupe and played more than 30 roles in various plays. Some of his notable performances include "Camille," "Invitation to the Castle," and Ada Rogovtseva's benefit performance "I Give You My Blessing." The talented actor received the prestigious Kyiv Pectoral Theater Award three times. However, disagreements with the theater management led to his departure.

On October 16, 2009, Dmitry Lalenkov made his debut on the stage of the Kyiv Academic Drama and Comedy Theater on the left bank of the Dnieper River. He portrayed Plichev, also known as Fedka Reshetov, in the play "Playing Chonkin." In the 1990s, Lalenkov transitioned from theater to the film industry. He made an episodic appearance in the multi-series film "Taras Shevchenko's Will." However, his breakthrough role did not come until the comedy film "Adventures of a Abandoned Husband" in 2000, which unfortunately went unnoticed.

In the new millennium and subsequent years, Dmitry Lalenkov actively appeared in films and on television. He played the role of artist Andrey Simonenko in the crime series "Werewolf's Trail" and portrayed the husband of the main character Lisa, played by Olga Sumskaya, in the romantic comedy melodrama "Lazybones." He also starred as Rostem Pasha in the historical melodrama "Roxolana-3: Empress of the Empire" in 2003. In 2004, director Yaroslav Lupiy offered Dmitry Lalenkov the lead role in the film "Second-Hand." However, the film received mixed reviews and did not gain popularity. He also appeared in the popular Ukrainian sitcom "Lesya + Roma," which ran for six seasons and had an average audience of 2 million viewers.

In the multi-series detective film "The Personal Life of Investigator Saveliev" by Sergey Krutin, Dmitry Lalenkov appeared in two episodes as the director of a lyceum, Arkady Ilyich Sergeev. Interestingly, the film also featured Ada Rogovtseva, who discovered Dmitry's talent, and the role of the investigator was given to Dmitry Maryanov.

In the drama film "Battle for Sevastopol" directed by Sergey Mokritskiy, Dmitry Lalenkov played a supporting role as an officer. The film received favorable reviews from viewers, and Russian film critic Mikhail Trofimenkov named it the best film about the Great Patriotic War in the last 25 years.

Personal Life

Dmitry Lalenkov met his first wife, actress Elena Stefanskaya, in his youth. They lived together for eight years in a service room at the theater, despite not having their own home. They had two sons together, Nikita, born on June 23, 1990, and Ilya, born on June 12, 2005. Both sons followed a creative path, with the eldest becoming a director and the youngest performing on the theater stage.

Despite his success with women, Dmitry Lalenkov confessed to living a double life for many years, with two families who were unaware of each other's existence until the truth was revealed. This caused him great guilt and led him to develop a severe drinking problem. While Elena forgave his infidelity, she could not tolerate his alcoholism, and they eventually divorced.

In 2012, Dmitry attempted to rebuild his personal life once again by entering into a relationship with Tatiana, who was 16 years younger. However, this relationship also ended, and currently, the actor remains single.
