Biography of Dmitry Bykov

Dmitry Bykov is a writer, poet, publicist, and the host of the program "Vremechko". He is also a creative editor at the newspaper "Sobesednik". He was born on December 20, 1967 in Moscow. His mother was a Russian language and literature teacher. Despite his appearance, he bears his mother's surname (At my appearance, I could have taken any surname, even Petrov. My father's surname was Zilbeltrud, I do not hide this... My father did not live with his family, and I bear my mother's surname because I am proud of my mother, who raised me alone).

Bykov graduated from the Department of Journalism at Moscow State University, specializing in literary criticism. After graduating, he served in the military. Since 1985, he has been working at the weekly newspaper "Sobesednik", where he has held positions as a columnist and editor of the newspaper department.

He was a member of the Order of Courteous Mannerists, and since 2000, he has been the creative editor of "Sobesednik". Bykov has collaborated or been published in almost all weekly newspapers in Moscow, as well as several daily newspapers. He regularly contributes to "Ogonek", "Vecherny Club", "Stolitsa" (from 1990 to 1993), "Obshaya Gazeta", "Semi Dnei" (as a leading columnist), "Novaya Gazeta", "Fase", and "Profil". Since 2000, he has been the host of the program "Vremechko" on TVC channel. Since 2000, he has also been the author and host of the weekly political program "Horosho, Bykov" on TVC channel.
