Biography of Donal Logue
Donal Francis Logue is a Canadian actor, best known for his role as Finnerty in the TV series "Grounded for Life". He was born on February 27, 1966, in Ottawa, Canada. His father, Michael J. Logue, met his wife Elizabeth while serving as a Carmelite missionary in Africa, where they got married. The couple has four children in total, including Donal's three sisters: Karina (an actress), her twin sister Deirdre, and Eileen. Donal's father is the president of Aisling Industries, a company that manufactures microchips for mobile phone manufacturers.

Early Life and Education
Logue spent a significant part of his childhood and adolescence in El Centro, California, where he attended Central Union High School. After graduating from high school, he enrolled in the history department at Harvard University. During his time at Harvard, he was a member of the Signet Society, a long-standing university organization that served as a club for people interested in literature and theater.

Acting Career
Logue's first acting role was as Dr. Gunter Janek in the film "Sneakers" (1992), following a few appearances in TV movies. In 1994, he made a guest appearance as screenwriter Jude Bromella in an episode of the TV series "Northern Exposure". Shortly after, he portrayed an FBI agent, a rival to Fox Mulder, in an episode of "The X-Files" titled "Squeeze". Logue gained recognition for his role as "Jimmy the Cab Driver" in promotional videos for MTV in the early 1990s.

Throughout his career, Logue has appeared in over 40 films, including notable roles as vampire Quinn in "Blade" (1998) and in the movie "The Patriot" (2000) alongside Mel Gibson. He also appeared in two Edward Burns films, "The Brothers McMullen" as a British chef and "The Groomsmen". His breakthrough role came in the film "The Tao of Steve" (2000), where he played a charismatic, overweight protagonist. His performance in the film earned him a Special Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival for "Best Actor".
Television Career
Logue's television career took off when he was cast as Chuck Brown, a man Susan Lewis impulsively marries during her Los Angeles weekend, in the TV series "ER". He appeared in three episodes of the ninth season and returned for the tenth season, appearing in three more episodes. Logue became one of the few actors to simultaneously appear in two TV series airing concurrently on different channels. His most recognizable role came in the critically acclaimed comedy "Grounded for Life", which is still popular in many countries.
Currently, Logue stars as Captain Kevin Tidwell in the NBC drama series "Life". He has homes in Los Angeles and Oregon, and holds dual citizenship in Ireland and Canada.
