Early Career and Draft
Dragan Tarlac, a Yugoslavian center, was selected in the second round of the 1994 NBA Draft with the 31st overall pick. However, Tarlac opted to continue playing in Europe instead of pursuing an NBA career immediately after the draft.
European Success with Olympiacos
Tarlac spent the next six years playing in Europe, most notably for the Greek club Olympiacos for eight seasons. During his time with Olympiacos, Tarlac was a key contributor to their EuroLeague victory in the 1996-97 season, averaging 14.7 points and 7.3 rebounds.
International Recognition
Tarlac's impressive performances earned him recognition on the international stage. He was named to the Greek All-Star Team four times in a row (1996-1999) and was selected to play in the EuroStars Game in 2000. Tarlac also represented Yugoslavia in international tournaments, appearing in the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
NBA Debut with Chicago Bulls
Following his final season in Greece, where he averaged 9.8 points and 8.0 rebounds in domestic play and 11.6 points and 7.7 rebounds in EuroLeague competitions, Tarlac signed with the Chicago Bulls on August 16, 2000.
