Birth of Dig This
In 2004, while building his home, Mumm rented an excavator to dig a pond. This experience sparked the idea for Dig This, a theme park where thrill-seekers and Tonka toy enthusiasts could operate real-life construction equipment.
Success in Las Vegas
Mumm opened Dig This in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, in 2007. The park's popularity led him to relocate it to Las Vegas in 2011, where it became a major attraction. Visitors can choose from a Caterpillar D5 track-type bulldozer or a CAT 315CL hydraulic excavator.
Women and Dig This
Surprisingly, up to half of Dig This's clients are women. The park has become a favorite destination for housewives and senior citizens, who find empowerment and joy in operating massive machinery.

Expansion and Challenges
Mumm's concept has gained international recognition, with a Dig This park set to open in Sydney, Australia. However, the journey to success was not without hurdles. It took Mumm a year to secure insurance, and the initial Colorado location operated for three years before he gained the expertise necessary for the Las Vegas expansion.
