Biography of Eddie Jordan
Early LifeEddie Jordan was born on March 30, 1948, in Dublin, Ireland. He grew up in a religious family, with his aunt being a senior nun in the Irish Sisters of Charity congregation. Initially, Jordan planned to become a priest but later changed his mind and pursued a career in dentistry. However, his life took a different turn when he discovered kart racing at a local festival in 1971.

Racing Career
After winning the Irish Karting Championship in 1971, Jordan transitioned to Formula Ford racing in 1974. Within two years, he advanced to the Formula Atlantic and Formula 3 championships. In 1979, Jordan founded his own racing team, Eddie Jordan Racing, which achieved success in various series, including Formula 3000.
Jordan Grand Prix
In 1991, Jordan formed his Formula One team, Jordan Grand Prix, which competed in the sport until it was sold to Russian-Canadian entrepreneur Alex Shnaider in 2005. Shnaider renamed the team Midland for the 2006 season. In 2009, Jordan returned to Formula One as a BBC analyst, alongside former F1 driver David Coulthard and journalist Jake Humphrey.
Other Interests
Aside from motorsport, Jordan has several other interests. He is an accomplished drummer and his band, Eddie & The Robbers, continues to perform at various venues. He is an avid football fan, supporting Celtic, Coventry City, and Chelsea. Jordan also enjoys golf, horse riding, and is a member of prestigious Irish clubs, the Royal Dublin Golf Club and the Royal Cork Yacht Club. He has investments in various businesses, including the vodka brand Vodka V10 and energy drinks EJ-10. In May 2007, Jordan published his autobiography, "An Independent Man."
Personal Life
In 1983, Jordan married Marie McCarthy, a former basketball player, and they have four children together. The family primarily resides in Ireland, where Jordan keeps his helicopter, but they also have homes in London, Monaco, and other locations. Jordan has been a longstanding supporter of the charitable organization CLIC Sargent, which aids children suffering from cancer.
