Early Life and Education
Ethan Koestner Kruger was born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia.He attended Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, graduating in 1990. Kruger then went on to study film at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
Screenwriting Career
Kruger began his screenwriting career with the 1999 film "Arlington Road."He followed this up with "Scream 3" (2000) and "Joy Ride" (2001). Kruger received a Bram Stoker Award nomination for his screenplay for "The Ring" (2002). He also made uncredited revisions to the screenplay for "Scream 4" (2011) when Kevin Williamson had to leave the production.

Kruger is best known for writing three of the four films in the "Transformers" franchise:"Revenge of the Fallen" (2009), "Dark of the Moon" (2011), and "Age of Extinction" (2014). These films grossed over $2.6 billion worldwide.
Other Works
In addition to his work on the "Transformers" franchise, Kruger has written several other screenplays.These include "The Brothers Grimm" (2005), a television adaptation of Terry Gilliam's film, and "The Call" (2013), starring Halle Berry.
Awards and Recognition
Kruger has received numerous awards and nominations for his work, including a Nicholl Fellowship from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 1996.He was also nominated for a Saturn Award for Best Screenplay for "Dark of the Moon."
