Biography of Ekaterina Polyanskaya
Ekaterina Polyanskaya, a former model and renowned designer, was born in 1973. She began her career as a model, working with the famous agency "Red Stars" for ten years. During her modeling years, she became the face of brands like Givenchy and Tiffany, and also worked with renowned designer Valentin Yudashkin. However, she is now widely recognized for her role as a successful designer and the owner of her own company, "Feeric".
Polyanskaya's journey into the fashion industry started in the early 90s when she was approached by a scout from the fashion industry. After several persistent attempts, she eventually decided to give it a try and joined the fashion house "Alexander Borodulin," co-owned by the prominent figure, Petya Listerman. This agency was one of the few in Russia that supplied models to reputable agencies in France and Italy. However, Polyanskaya later realized that it was a dubious enterprise in Russia.
In addition to her modeling career, Polyanskaya is also a highly educated individual. She graduated from a pedagogical college, specializing in "Service Work," and later pursued a degree in teaching drawing and drafting. She further enhanced her skills by obtaining a second degree in Landscape Design from the Moscow Architectural Institute (MARHI).
Polyanskaya's fashion label, "Feeric," specializes in creating exclusive evening gowns with prices ranging from 20,000 to 80,000 rubles. Despite her success as a designer, Polyanskaya often reminisces about her modeling days and the latest fashion trends. However, during an interview, the focus was on the period when she was married to Joseph Kobzon's son and her experience as his daughter-in-law.
Polyanskaya shared that her relationship with Andrei Kobzon, whom she eventually married, began when they met and got to know each other. At the time, Polyanskaya was charmed by his kind and open nature, which stood out amidst the challenging times of the 90s. They lived together for two years in a common-law marriage, facing financial difficulties and relying on the support of their parents for meals.
Regarding her relationship with Joseph Kobzon, Polyanskaya explained that Andrei had initially positioned himself as separate from his family. However, over time, Andrei reconciled with his father, and Joseph Kobzon did not object to Andrei marrying a Russian girl instead of a Jewish girl.
Polyanskaya, who once took Andrei's surname, "Kobzon," during their relationship, later reverted to her maiden name, "Polyanskaya." She felt that living under such a well-known surname brought about many questions and challenges. When asked about the reason for their divorce, Polyanskaya reflected on the absence of love in their relationship. She revealed that their connection was mainly based on friendship, and she had always been ready to support, listen, and help Andrei. However, she realized that she was not truly happy and that their relationship lacked true happiness.
Polyanskaya's mother had pleaded with her to wait before getting a divorce for the sake of their children, but after a year of contemplating, both Polyanskaya and Andrei decided to end their marriage. During this period, she came to the realization that having children outside of marriage would prevent future complications. Andrei had threatened to take the children, but Polyanskaya confronted him with the responsibilities that come with parenting.
After their divorce, Polyanskaya's daughters began seeing their father more frequently than when they were living together. Andrei genuinely loves his daughters, and they adore him in return. Currently, the girls live with Polyanskaya's parents in a house she built with her own earnings since Andrei was not willing to participate in the process. However, once the renovations in her apartment with her new partner, the famous football player Dmitri Bulykin, are complete, the children will move in with them.
Polyanskaya chose to give birth to her children in Israel because of the country's superior healthcare system. Additionally, children born in Israel automatically acquire dual citizenship and all the associated benefits. Polyanskaya and her ex-husband declared themselves Jewish for the documentation, obtained dual citizenship, and traveled to Israel to give birth.
Regarding her current partner, Dmitri Bulykin, who plays for the Moscow-based football club Dynamo, Polyanskaya clarified that they started dating after her divorce and not while she was still married. Their relationship began as a friendship, but eventually, they realized they were meant to be together. Polyanskaya mentioned that she does not feel the need to formalize their relationship through marriage, as she believes that official marriage is only essential in certain circumstances, such as when one spouse is critically ill. She further expressed that she is not worried about competition from Bulykin's young female fans since he was previously in a long-term relationship before they got together.
Polyanskaya's life is closely tied to Russia, and she considers it her home. If Bulykin receives a contract offer to play abroad, she would visit him, but her own life and the lives of her children are connected to Russia. As for her luxurious car, she received it as a birthday gift from her ex-husband, Andrei. However, it required her to obtain a special driver's license category, which she successfully accomplished.
