Biography of Elena Kolomina
Elena Kolomina is a Kazakhstani skier who has participated in two Olympics, winning four Asian Games championships and being a medalist at the Universiade. She is a versatile athlete who performs equally well in sprint and distance races. Kolomina is an internationally recognized Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Early Career
Kolomina made her debut in the World Cup in 2000 and achieved her first top ten finish in the relay event in November 2003. She has a total of 15 top ten finishes in World Cup stages, including 13 in team competitions and two in individual events. Her best overall World Cup ranking was 47th in the 2009-10 season.
Olympic Achievements
At the 2006 Olympics in Turin, Kolomina achieved the following results: 25th place in the 7.5+7.5 km duathlon, 9th place in the team sprint, 38th place in the sprint, 19th place in the 30 km mass start, and 13th place in the relay. In the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, she finished 27th in the 10 km skate race, 36th in the sprint, 11th in the team sprint, 28th in the duathlon, 33rd in the 30 km mass start, and 9th in the relay.
World Championships
Throughout her career, Kolomina has participated in five World Championships. Her best result was a 4th place finish in the relay event at the 2003 World Championships. In individual competitions, she achieved 21st place in the sprint at the 2001 World Championships.

Kolomina uses skis produced by Fischer, and Salomon boots and bindings.
