Childhood and Early Life

Born Elinor Salome Miranda Olausson in Stockholm, Sweden, in November 1985, Elliphant's upbringing was shaped by her Icelandic heritage and the influence of her single mother. Her unique upbringing was marked by diverse musical tastes, with her family's stereo playing everything from Frank Sinatra to Frank Zappa.

School Struggles and a Trip to India

Diagnosed with ADHD, dyslexia, and an inability to sit still, Elliphant left school at 15 and moved in with her grandmother. A transformative three-week trip to India inspired her to pursue her passions, leading her to work as a waitress and save up for a six-month stay in the country.

Musical Beginnings

In India, Elliphant discovered her voice and began singing by campfires. She subsequently traveled to Europe, performing in countries such as Germany, France, and the UK.

Personal Life

Elliphant's personal life remains largely private. In 2014, she expressed her belief in extraterrestrials and her desire to have a child with one, citing their perceived intelligence and morality. Elliphant is open about her use of profanity, alcohol, and marijuana.

Music Career

In 2011, Elliphant met musician Tim Deneve in Paris. Together with Ted Krotkiewski, they formed a songwriting team. Elliphant's debut single, "Tekkno Scene," was released in 2012, followed by her first studio album, "A Good Idea," in 2013.

Her music blended dancehall, dubstep, and electronic influences, earning critical acclaim for its aggressive yet melodic nature. Elliphant has collaborated with renowned artists such as Yellow Claw, DJ Snake, and Major Lazer.

Current Projects and Future Plans

In 2020, Elliphant released singles "Uterus" and "Had Enough," exploring themes of rebirth and frustration. The singles were accompanied by striking music videos.

Elliphant is working on a new album, produced by Mark Rankin. She describes its concept as a meditation on how our own actions can create chaos in our lives.
