Eloise Mumford was born to Tom Mumford and Nancy Smith. She grew up in Olympia, Washington and was homeschooled until the fifth grade. She then attended schools in Tacoma and Olympia. Eloise has an older sister named Anna and a younger brother named Kay.

Early Acting Career

Eloise's passion for acting was ignited at a young age when she saw a local production of the musical "South Pacific" at the age of seven. In high school, she participated in the school's drama club and also collaborated with a local theater troupe. After graduating in 2009, Eloise attended the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. She also studied at Atlantic Acting School.

Rise to Fame

While still a student, Eloise landed the lead role opposite Jesse Eisenberg in the short film "Some Boys Don't Leave", directed by Maggie Kiley. She also gained experience in theater, serving as an understudy for Elisabeth Moss in the Broadway production of "Speed the Plow". Eloise's breakthrough came with her role as Lindsay Holloway in the Fox television series "Lone Star", which she secured immediately after college in the first season. In 2012, she portrayed Lena Landry in the ABC supernatural series "The River".

Notable Roles and Future Projects

Eloise Mumford has also appeared in prominent film projects, including "Not Safe For Work" produced by Blumhouse Productions for Universal Pictures and "Drones" directed by Rick Rosenthal, co-starring Matt O'Leary. In February 2012, she was cast in the lead female role in the pilot episode of the ABC project "Reckless". In November 2012, it was announced that Eloise would be playing the character of Kate Kavanagh, the neighbor of the film's main protagonist, in the highly anticipated film adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey".
