Early Training and Achievements
Born in the Netherlands, Verhey began her musical journey at the tender age of eight under the tutelage of Oscar Back. Her exceptional abilities were recognized early on when she won the coveted Oscar Back National Violin Competition in 1967.
Throughout her formative years, Verhey sought guidance from esteemed violinists such as Herman Krebbers, Béla Dekany, and Wolfgang Schneiderhan. She also ventured to the prestigious Moscow Conservatory for a year-long mentorship with the legendary David Oistrakh.
International Success
In 1971, Verhey's talent reached new heights when she triumphed at the inaugural Tromp International Music Competition. This prestigious victory cemented her status as a rising star on the international stage.
