Sykes was awarded the Order of the British Empire in 1986 for his services to drama. He also received the Bernard Delfont Award for Outstanding Contribution to Showbusiness in 2002. Sykes remains the honorary president of the Goon Show Preservation Society, a testament to his enduring legacy as one of the most influential and beloved British comedians of all time.
