Erlan Suleimenov is a prominent entrepreneur and founder of the "OLIMP" clinical and diagnostic laboratory network in Kazakhstan.
Early Life and Education
Suleimenov was born in Tselinograd, Kazakhstan, and graduated from the Akmola State Medical Academy in 1997, specializing in general medicine. He later completed a clinical residency in general practice and earned a degree in economics and management in the social sphere from the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University in 2001. In 2019, he obtained an MBA degree from the AlmaU Graduate School of Business and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree from the same institution.
Personal Life
Suleimenov is married to Elena Vladimirovna Suleimenova, a mammologist. Together, they have four children.
Professional Journey
Suleimenov began his career in the medical business in 1998, supplying functional diagnostic equipment for cardiology in Kazakhstan. In 2004, he established the "Tyny's" medical center in Astana, providing obstetrics and gynecology, endocrinology, mammography, surgery, and ultrasound services.
From 2005 to 2006, Suleimenov worked in the Pharmaceutical Committee of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, monitoring medical devices and equipment.
In 2007, he founded the first clinical and diagnostic laboratory in his network, named "KDL OLIMP," using the OLYMPUS AU400 analyzer for initial biochemical tests.
Suleimenov played a crucial role in introducing the ISO 15189 international standard for laboratory diagnostics to Kazakhstan in 2014, ensuring the recognition of KDL OLIMP's test results abroad.
In collaboration with Moscow-based IT specialist Alexander Egoruskin, Suleimenov holds the copyright for the "LIS K-Lab" laboratory information system, which automates processes in clinical and diagnostic laboratories.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Suleimenov invested over 5 billion tenge in opening new laboratories within his network for COVID-19 testing.
Other Ventures and Accomplishments
Suleimenov is the founder of "Meditec" (a company supplying and servicing medical equipment and reagents) and "Olymp Medical Group" (operating the "DiVera" medical center network). He is a co-founder of "Almaz Medical Group."
As the Chairman of the regional council of the Nur-Sultan Chamber of Entrepreneurs, Suleimenov played a prominent role in the business community. In 2020, he was ranked 48th in the Forbes list of 50 most influential businessmen in Kazakhstan.
