Biography of Esai Morales
Esai Manuel Morales was born on October 1, 1962, in Brooklyn, New York. His mother, Iris Margarita Morales (Deklet), was an active union activist and a member of the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union, while his father, Esai Morales, worked as a welder.

Acting Career
Morales began his journey as an actor by attending the School of Stagecraft in Manhattan. He started with a series of professional performances in New York theaters, and in 1983, he landed his first film role in "Bad Boys," a movie about teenagers in prison. His second film role was in the 1987 biopic "La Bamba," where he portrayed Bob Morales, the brother of the legendary 1950s rock and roll musician Ritchie Valens.

Throughout his career, Morales has played diverse roles in films such as "The Burning Season" (1994), "My Family/Mi Familia" (1995), "The Disappearance of Garcia Lorca" (1997), and "South of Heaven" (1998). These movies, along with his work on stage and television, helped establish Morales as a notable actor.

On television, Morales appeared in the mid-1980s in the series "Fame" and later starred alongside Burt Lancaster in the NBC-TV miniseries "On Wings of Eagles." He also had guest roles in shows like "Miami Vice," "The Equalizer," and "24."
Activism and Personal Life
In addition to his acting career, Morales is an active union activist, following in the footsteps of his mother. He is also involved in several environmental organizations and is the founder of the Earth Communications Office. Morales is a committed vegetarian.
In 2007, Morales faced accusations of sexual harassment and intentional transmission of a venereal disease from his former girlfriend. He successfully proved his innocence in court, and the case was closed.
