Yevhen Derevyanko is a renowned Ukrainian sculptor, artist, teacher, and the founder of the art gallery "Golfstream".
Early Life and Education
Born into a family of artists, Derevyanko graduated from the Taras Shevchenko Republican Art School in 1987 and the Ukrainian Academy of Arts in 1995.
Artistic Style and Techniques
Derevyanko works in the style of expressionism with elements of symbolism. His favorite technique is levkas, inspired by ancient Russian paintings of the 10th-13th centuries. He skillfully utilizes a wide range of materials, including bronze, wood, stone, and ceramics.
Major Works and Accomplishments
Derevyanko's artistic portfolio includes numerous easel works and monumental sculptures, such as the Monument to Nikola Svetosha (2006) in Kyiv.
