American Conductor

American conductor, she graduated from Mannes College and then trained with Walter Susskind and Leonard Slatkin in the United States, and Igor Markevitch and Herbert Blomstedt in Europe. She worked at the Metropolitan Opera and New York City Opera.

Founding the New York Opera Orchestra

In 1971, she founded and became the music director of the New York Opera Orchestra, which she still leads today. The orchestra specializes in concert performances of operas.
