Fabrice Moireau: A French Photographer's Journey
Early Life and InfluencesBorn into a devout family in Nogent-sur-Marne, France, Fabrice Moireau received his secondary education at a Jesuit school, where he studied theology and philosophy alongside photography. At the age of 15, he received his first camera from his father, sparking his passion for the art. Despite initial success, Moireau initially pursued a career in marketing.
International Experience and Corporate Success
After earning a marketing diploma in France, Moireau expanded his education at the University of California, Berkeley. He spent several years working in Switzerland and the Netherlands, excelling in the field of computer technology.
Return to Photography
In 1997, after a successful career in IT, Moireau decided to return to photography. He had previously established a multimedia company specializing in photography and web design. In 2008, after developing and illustrating over 1250 art, tourism, and leisure-related websites, Moireau sold the company to pursue photography full-time.
Artistic Style and Inspiration
Moireau's work primarily focuses on street photography and portraiture. He often avoids using flash to emphasize movement. His studio photography is more uncommon and typically explores variations on specific themes. Seeking positivity in every situation, Moireau strives to capture hope in his photographs.
Recognition and Exhibitions
Moireau's photographs have been exhibited in numerous French cities, including the Paris Bourse and Chamber of Commerce, the Arras gallery in Moscow, and the Bezborodko Palace in Saint Petersburg. His work has also been featured in countless magazines, books, and videos worldwide. Future plans include exhibitions in Montreal and Saint Petersburg, as well as the opening of a gallery/studio in Paris in late 2010.
Ongoing Projects
Currently, Moireau is working on a series of portraits inspired by the works of great painters. His photography continues to evolve, capturing the essence of human emotion and connection while exploring the boundaries of artistique expression.
