Early Life and Education
Mykola Ivanov was born on April 6, 1940, in the village of Stara Bohdanivka, Mykolaiv region, Ukraine.
Military Service and Work Experience
After graduating from secondary school, Ivanov worked as a carpenter at the "Okean" shipyard from 1959 to 1961. He then served in the Soviet Army from 1961 to 1963. Upon his return, he pursued higher education at the Kherson Agricultural Institute, graduating in 1968.
Agricultural Career
Ivanov began his career in agriculture as a chief agronomist at the "Zarya" collective farm in Berezan district from 1968 to 1971. He then moved to the "Ukraina" collective farm in Ochakiv district, where he served as chief agronomist from 1971 to 1985.
Leadership at "Olvia"
In 1985, Ivanov was appointed chairman of the "Olvia" collective farm, later reorganized as the "Olvia" Joint Stock Company. He led the organization for two decades, until his passing in 2005. Under his leadership, "Olvia" became one of the leading agricultural enterprises in Ukraine.
Political Involvement
Ivanov served as a deputy in the Mykolaiv Regional Council.Death and Legacy
Mykola Ivanov passed away on February 27, 2005, and was buried in the Ochakiv district. He posthumously received the title of "Hero of Ukraine" for his outstanding contributions to agriculture.
Family
Ivanov was survived by his wife, Irina Mykhailivna, and two sons, Mykola and Valeriy. He had two grandsons, Andriy and Volodymyr.
