Early Life and Education

Feride Çetin, born in Istanbul on November 5, 1980, to Bulgarian immigrants, displayed an exceptional drive for academic excellence from a young age. Her family's aspirations for success in their new country fueled her determination, leading her to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Broadcasting and Television from Istanbul University. Subsequently, she completed a Master's in Cinema and Television from Marmara University and continued her studies in doctoral programs. However, this relentless academic pursuit came at a personal cost, as Feride sacrificed her passions for music, sports, and reading to maintain her relentless study schedule, which she later described as having negatively impacted her health.

Thespian Beginnings

Despite her academic endeavors, Feride's passion for the arts never waned. During her formative years, she honed her acting skills in theater workshops, culminating in several stage appearances. Her cinematic debut came at the age of 25, when she landed the lead role in the teen drama "Two Girls" as one of the titular student friends. This performance earned her recognition and accolades at the Ankara Film Festival, Sadri Alışık Awards, and Golden Cocoon Awards. Since then, Feride has balanced her feature film work with recurring roles in notable TV series such as "Remember Me," "The Last Networks," "Love and Punishment," "Homecoming," and "Hear Me."

Hercai: A Televisual Triumph

In 2019, Feride's star rose further with her portrayal of Zehra Şadoğlu in the Turkish historical drama "Hercai" (translated as "Person who Doesn't Keep Promises"). The series swiftly gained popularity both domestically and abroad, with broadcast rights acquired by over 100 countries. Feride's character, the fearful and anguished mother of the female protagonist, appeared prominently from the first season until the third and final season aired in 2021. During the second season, Feride briefly left the production due to her pregnancy and the birth of her daughter. This real-life event was woven into the narrative, as her character also became pregnant and was sent away to her mother's home. Upon her return to the series, Zehra Şadoğlu welcomed a second daughter, portrayed by Ebrar Alya Demirbilek.

Personal Life

Feride's personal journey has been marked by both joy and hardship. In 2019, she became pregnant for the first time with her then-partner, Turkish film critic Murat Özer. Despite concerns from family and friends, Feride and Murat got married and welcomed their daughter Hayat in 2020. However, the couple divorced in 2021, and in 2022, Özer passed away from a brain tumor just before their daughter's second birthday. Feride remains a single mother to Hayat, often sharing heartwarming moments with her daughter on social media.

Current Projects and Future Endeavors

Feride's recent works include the TV series "Uncrowned Princess," released in 2023, where she plays Masal's (Elif Kurtaran) mother. With her height of 160 cm, Feride continues to leave an enduring mark on the Turkish entertainment industry.
