Piotr Krasiński served as the Bishop of Krakow.
Role in the Union of Lublin

As the Crown Under-Chancellor from 1569, Krasiński wielded significant influence until the interregnum of 1573. He played a prominent role in securing the Union of Lublin in 1569, which unified the Polish and Lithuanian crowns.

Support for Freedom of Conscience

Krasiński became the only bishop to advocate for freedom of conscience in the Warsaw Confederation Act.

Nephew and His Contributions

Krasiński's nephew, Jan Krasiński (1550-1612), served as Secretary to King Stephen Bathory before becoming a Canon of Gniezno and Łuck. His notable work, "Polonia" (1574), was published in Bologna and later in Polish translation by Budziński in 1852.

Jan Krasiński also authored "Oratio ad Senatum et Equites Polonos de electione Henrici Valesii Poloniae Regis" (1573) and "Elegia" following the death of King Sigismund II Augustus (1572). He left "Commentarii belli Livonensis atque ducis Moscharum contra Livones" as an unpublished manuscript.
