Frank Carroll
Career as a Figure SkaterFrank Carroll was born in Worcester, Massachusetts. His skating journey began as a young boy with the opening of a nearby skating rink. He honed his skills under the guidance of Marybel Vinson-Owen and went on to win a bronze medal at the 1959 U.S. Junior Championships and a silver medal the following year. Inspired by Douglas Ramsey, he pursued a career in competitive skating. After a successful run in the "Ice Follies" ice show, Carroll retired from competition and earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from the College of the Holy Cross.
Transition to Coaching
During his time at the University of San Francisco, Carroll began coaching figure skating as a part-time venture to earn extra income. With his extensive knowledge and experience, he transitioned seamlessly into a full-time coaching role. His exceptional skills and dedication led to his prominence as a highly sought-after coach, notably training future world champions Linda Fratianne, Michelle Kwan, and Evan Lysacek.
