Chinese Teenager with Abnormally Long Neck
Photos of this Chinese boy may not look real, considering his abnormally long neck, thoughts of Photoshop involuntarily come to mind. But all of this is true, and the teenager's neck, it is claimed, has grown three extra vertebrae. What is it like to live with a neck that is almost twice the length of an ordinary person's neck?

Biography of Fu Wengui
Fu Wengui lives in the Chinese capital, Beijing, he is 15 years old, and not long ago, his photos made it to many international media outlets. The increased media interest in an ordinary teenager was sparked by his visit to the hospital, where he arrived with his father. Even at first glance, it became clear to the doctors that something was wrong with this boy, as his neck looked unusually long. In the meantime, Fu complained of severe back and neck pain, and recently, even walking has become difficult for him.

A Misdiagnosis
Fu's father, 50-year-old Fu Genyou, claims that instead of the usual 7 vertebrae in the cervical spine, Fu Wengui has 10, and it is these three extra vertebrae that made him look like a giraffe. The same father is convinced that the nerves being compressed by the extra vertebrae are causing severe pain that sometimes prevents his son from moving. Now, Fu is awaiting surgery - surgeons will remove the unnecessary three vertebrae, and his neck will become of normal size.
Previous Health Issues
When Fu was six years old, doctors diagnosed him with scoliosis, in addition to finding that his thoracic cage was abnormally developing. At that time, nobody considered it serious, and the boy grew up without much attention to his health, but over the years, his neck began to look strange, elongating to unimaginable proportions. Fu himself suffers from constant pain and is eagerly anticipating the operation that will make him like any other boy his age.
Hope for a Normal Neck
It is known that his operation will take place at Chaoyang Hospital, funded by a charitable organization. "I just hope that soon I will have a normal neck," says the teenager, while doctors are confident that such an operation is not too complicated and will go smoothly.
