Biography of Fiorella Mannoia
Fiorella Mannoia is an Italian singer who has performed songs in Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, English, and the Neapolitan dialect of Italian. Over the course of her career, which spans over forty years, she has released 20 vinyl records, 11 singles, 18 studio albums, 10 compilations, and 3 concert DVDs. Her last three albums, 'Canzoni nel tempo' (2007), 'Il movimento del dare' (2008), and 'Ho imparato a sognare' (2009), all released by Sony, achieved platinum status.

Early Life and Career
Fiorella Mannoia was born on April 4, 1954, in Rome, Italy. Her father, Luigi, was a stuntman, and as children, Fiorella, her brother Maurizio, and sister Patrizia began working in the film industry. Her first film role as a stunt double was in 'Non cantare, spara!' ('Don't Sing, Shoot!') in 1968 when she was just 13 years old. Despite her early involvement in the film industry, Fiorella chose a musical career for herself.

During her youth, she often worked as a double for Italian film star Monica Vitti and stood in for American actress Candice Bergen in the western film 'The Hunting Party' in 1971. In the early 1970s, Fiorella also played minor roles in Italian western films such as 'Un colt in mano del diavolo' (1972), 'E il terzo giorno arrivò il corvo' (1973), and 'Sei bounty killers per una strage' (1973).

Her debut in the music scene occurred in 1968 at the Castrocaro Music Festival, where she performed the song 'Un bambino sul leone,' which was gaining popularity at the time thanks to Adriano Celentano. Although Fiorella did not win the competition, she was offered a contract with the influential music publisher 'Carisch,' where she recorded her first album, 'Ho saputo che partivi.' Unfortunately, everything she recorded in the following years, changing authors and labels, went largely unnoticed.

Breakthrough and Success
Fiorella's first major success came in the early 1980s when she signed a contract with the label 'CGD.' Her first recording under the new label was not her own album but a duet with Pierangelo Bertoli called 'Pescatore.' This song became a huge success, bringing attention to Fiorella's unique voice. In 1981, she participated for the first time in the Sanremo Music Festival and unexpectedly became very popular in Italy. Hits followed, and true fame soon followed suit.
After changing labels once again, this time to 'DDD,' Fiorella won the critics' award at the Sanremo Music Festival. Since then, success has never left this unique singer. She continues to record and tour extensively, and her songs regularly top the charts. Additionally, Fiorella is actively involved in philanthropy, supporting the Umberto Veronesi Foundation, which focuses on fighting and preventing breast cancer.
Personal Life and Achievements
Fiorella has always been very cautious about keeping her private life out of the spotlight. The most known information about her is that she was in a relationship with singer Memmo Foresi, who was also her producer, during the 1970s and 1980s. Currently, she is in a relationship with Piero Fabrizi, a guitarist and composer.
Throughout her career, Fiorella has received numerous awards and accolades. She won the critics' award at the Sanremo Music Festival in 1987 and 1988 and received the Targa Tenco award five times, in 1988, 1990, 1995, 1999, and 2004. In 2005, she was honored with the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
Fiorella Mannoia's vocal style is highly recognizable, characterized by her low, almost masculine voice. When collaborating with other female singers, Fiorella prefers to perform with contralto singers such as Paola Turci and Noemi.
