This tragic event left Gabriel, a father of two, in a deep depression as he had to give up his career as an accountant at the capital's prosecutor's office. However, despite his despair, Gabriel continued with his life and joined the waiting list for a transplant.
A Miraculous Transplant
Gabriel Granados became the first person in Latin America to successfully undergo a double hand transplant. After a 17-hour operation and a lengthy recovery process, Gabriel was able to use his "new" hands as if they were his own. The transplant was performed at Mexico City's National Institute of Medical Science and Nutrition, and Gabriel received the donor hands from a 34-year-old man who tragically lost his life in a shootout.

Gabriel Granados' successful transplant not only changed his life but also marked a triumph for Mexican medicine.
