In 1997, Vergara's life took an unexpected turn when she participated in the Miss Venezuela pageant. She won third place and the title of "Miss Grace." Inspired by her mother's unfulfilled dreams of acting, Vergara decided to pursue the profession and began her career as a lottery host.
