Early Life and Education

Haji Aliyev was born on April 21, 1991, in Nakhichevan, Azerbaijan. Inspired by his father, a wrestling coach, he began training alongside his older brother Yashar in 1999. After graduating from high school in 2008, he enrolled at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports, graduating in 2012.

Wrestling Career

National Success

Aliyev's early success came in 2008 when he won bronze at the "Victory Cup" youth tournament in Turkey. He subsequently became the silver medalist at the European Youth Championship and the Azerbaijani Junior Championship.

International Achievements

Aliyev's breakthrough came in 2009 when, at the age of 18, he defeated European champion Zelimkhan Guseynov to win the Azerbaijani Cup and earn a call-up to the national team. Since then, he has amassed an impressive record, including:

- Three-time World Champion (2014, 2015, 2017)

- Three-time European Champion (2014, 2018, 2019)
- Winner of the 2019 European Games
- Silver medalist at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics

- Bronze medalist at the Rio 2016 Olympics and the 2015 European Games

Aliyev represents the Baku club "Neftchi," where he is coached by Elman Azimzade.

Personal Life

Aliyev married in 2014 and has a daughter named Aisha. He is known for his musical talents, including playing the piano and singing traditional Azerbaijani songs. In 2017, he showcased his musical abilities on the TV show "Foto+," performing a piece from the movie "Romeo and Juliet" on the piano and singing "Sari Gyelin" accompanied by Azerbaijani instruments.
