Capella was born in Milan, where he initially served as secretary to a minister and later to the Duke himself. This privileged position granted him access to valuable information, which would later prove significant in his writings.

Historical Works

Capella is primarily known for his historical chronicles. His most notable work, "De bello Mediolanensi," details the events in Italy surrounding the restoration of Francesco Sforza II as the Duke of Milan from 1521 to 1530. He also wrote "Historia belli Mussiani," a continuation of his earlier work, which was published in "Puteani Historia Cisalpina."

Another significant work by Capella is "Viennae Austriae a Sultano Solimanno obsessae historia," which chronicles the Ottoman siege of Vienna in 1530.

Literary Works

In addition to his historical writings, Capella also authored a work on the nature of women entitled "Dell'eccellenza e nobiltà della Donna." This work was included in the rare book "Antropologia overo ragionamento della natura umana."
