Early Life and Education
Gela Guralia was born in Poti, Georgia, into a family with a medical background. From childhood, he demonstrated a passion for singing and performed in both church choirs and local concerts. In addition to his music education, Guralia pursued piano and acting at art school. His talent as a tenor-altino with a rare four-octave vocal range was recognized early on.
After completing high school, Guralia enrolled in the chemistry department of Tbilisi University. However, his musical aspirations led him to abandon his studies in favor of pursuing a career in music.
Early Career
Guralia's singing career began as a soloist with the folk ensemble "Faziz." He also performed with the VIA "White Seagull." Despite his success in Georgia, including the release of his first album, he decided to seek greater opportunities in Moscow.
Upon arriving in the Russian capital in 2003, Guralia faced challenges due to a closed restaurant where he was scheduled to work. With the help of a relative, he began singing in restaurants, gaining experience and attracting a small following.
"The Voice" and Breakthrough
Gela's career reached new heights when he participated in the second season of the music talent show "The Voice" in 2013. He successfully passed the blind auditions and advanced to the semifinals under the mentorship of Dima Bilan.
Guralia's rendition of "Ne Otrekayutsya Lyubya" was a standout performance, earning him widespread acclaim. His unique vocal abilities and emotional depth resonated with viewers.
Post-"The Voice"
Following his success on "The Voice," Guralia participated in various musical projects, including a performance at the Kremlin Palace with the "Phonograph-Simpho-Jazz" orchestra.
He is currently working on recording an album in Moscow and plans to embark on a concert tour.
