Early Life and InfluencesGeorges Aperghis, a renowned French composer of Greek origin, was born into a family of artists. His father was a renowned sculptor, and his mother was a skilled painter. In 1976, Aperghis and his wife, actress Edith Scob, established the Atelier Théâtre et Musique (ATEM) in the Parisian suburb of Bagnolet.
