Early Inspiration and EducationAs a young boy, Gilles Montezin was captivated by a dress designed by Anne Marie Beretta in a French fashion magazine. Inspired by its beauty, he resolved to pursue a career in fashion. After graduating from the prestigious Paris' l'École de la Haute Couture, he honed his skills at the costume workshop of the Opéra Bastille.
Apprenticeship and Mentorship
To further his education, Montezin apprenticed with renowned designers Loris Azzaro and Christian Lacroix for eight years. During this time, he created garments for celebrities such as Catherine Zeta-Jones, Monica Bellucci, and Madonna.
Establishing His Own Brand
In 2004, Montezin relocated to New York City and launched his eponymous label. His designs quickly gained recognition within the American entertainment industry. Actors from soap operas like "All My Children" and "Guiding Light," as well as renowned TV journalist Barbara Walters, were seen wearing his creations.
