Grachia Nerssesian, Armenian Icon

Grachia Nersesovich Nerssesian, born in Nicomedia (present-day Izmit, Turkey), was a prominent figure in Armenian theater and cinema. He passed away in Yerevan, Armenia.

Education and Early Career

Nerssesian received his education at French and American colleges, as well as an Armenian school in Istanbul. From 1915 onward, he took part in performances of various Armenian theater troupes.

Theatrical Contributions

In 1922, Nerssesian relocated to Armenia. From 1923, he became an integral part of the G. Sundukyan Theater. His exceptional performances earned him recognition as one of the leading actors in Armenian theater and film.
