Early Life and Education

Isabel Coixet, a prominent Spanish filmmaker, was born into a family of creatives: her father was a producer and screenwriter, and her mother was a costume designer. As a child, Isabel appeared in several films. Later, she pursued her interest in history by studying ancient history at the Complutense University of Madrid.

Documentary Filmmaking and Assisting Carlos Saura

Before embarking on her own filmmaking journey, Isabel gained experience in documentary filmmaking by collaborating with other directors. She also served as an assistant director to the renowned Carlos Saura, further honing her skills.
