Biography of Guram Pirtskhalava
Guram Pirtskhalava, a famous Georgian actor, was born on February 18, 1940, in the city of Poti, Georgia. From a young age, Guram secretly dreamed of a career in acting. Despite the unfavorable conditions for pursuing a career in theater and film during the post-war period, Pirtskhalava never lost hope that he would eventually become an actor.
In 1966, Guram Pirtskhalava's dreams came true when he graduated from the prestigious Shota Rustaveli Theatre Institute in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. Shortly after completing his studies, he began working at the G. Erastavi Drama Theatre in the small Caucasian town of Gori.
After some time, Pirtskhalava joined the K. Mardjanishvili Academic Theatre, one of the most popular theaters in Tbilisi. In 1967, he made his debut in the film industry with the release of the movie "Molba," in which he showcased his exceptional talent. The film was well-received by the audience, and Pirtskhalava's performance was highly praised.
In 1977, Guram Pirtskhalava was invited to work at the "Georgia-Film" studio, which was considered one of the most advanced film organizations in the socialist republics of the USSR at that time. That same year, he appeared in the films "Ozhivshie legendy" and "Berega," both of which gained attention from film critics who recognized Pirtskhalava's outstanding acting skills.
In 1981, he starred in the film "Ploveц," and three years later, he delighted audiences with the fantastic comedy "Rasskaz byvalogo pilota." In 1988, he appeared in "Poslednyaya molitva Nazare," further solidifying his reputation as a talented actor.
However, during the societal changes that occurred in the following years, including the film industry, Guram Pirtskhalava, like many other actors of that time, faced difficulties. Despite this, his contributions to Georgian cinema and his remarkable performances will always be remembered.
