Hans-Jürgen Bäumler, a German figure skater renowned for his accomplishments in both singles and pair skating, was a multi-talented artist who left an indelible mark on sports, entertainment, and television.

Skating Accomplishments

Bäumler's greatest success came as a pair skater alongside Marika Kilius. Together, they won four German championships, six consecutive European championships, and two world championships. They earned two Olympic silver medals, narrowly losing to Barbara Wagner and Robert Paul at the 1960 Games and to Lyudmila Belousova and Oleg Protopopov at the 1964 Games.

Professional Career

In 1964, Bäumler and Kilius turned professional and embarked on a successful career in ice shows with the Vienna Ice Revue and Holiday on Ice. They recorded songs as a duo, and Bäumler later pursued a solo singing career. His most famous composition, "Wunderschönes fremdes Mädchen," gained wide recognition.

Film and Television

Bäumler transitioned to acting in 1964, appearing in films such as "Eisoperette." In the 1970s, he became a television host, presenting several programs and later working for RTL in the early 1990s.

Family and Personal Life

In 1974, Bäumler married a teacher named Marina. They had two sons, both of whom reside in France.
