Early Life and Education

In 1963, he graduated from Yerevan State University with a degree in mathematics. He worked as a mathematics teacher and earned a Doctor of Science degree in physical mathematics and a professorship.

Academic Career

From 1963 to 1965, he served as an assistant at Yerevan State University. From 1965 to 1968, he was a graduate student at V. A. Steklov Institute of Mathematics of the USSR Academy of Sciences.

Higher Education

Returning to Yerevan State University in 1969, he became a senior lecturer on the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics. He rose to become an associate professor from 1972 to 1984.

Faculty Leadership

In 1985, he was appointed professor and head of the Department of Digital Analysis on the Faculty of Mathematics. From 1987 to 1988, he served as vice-rector of the Khachatur Abovyan Armenian State Pedagogical University.

Later Academic Career

He returned to Yerevan State University's Faculty of Mathematics in 1989 as a professor. During his tenure, he published 38 scientific articles and two textbooks. In 1991, he became dean of the Faculty of Informatics at the university.

Political Career

In 1992, he was appointed Minister of Education of Armenia, a position he held until 1994. He was awarded the Anania Shirakatsi Medal on September 15, 2017, in recognition of his contributions.
