Cossmann's Influence
Cossmann held Kipper in exceptional regard, creating a cello arrangement of Franz Schubert's renowned song "Erlkönig" specifically for his prized pupil in 1890. During his time at the Conservatory, Kipper forged a close friendship with Hans Pfitzner, who composed a youthful cello concerto (1888) and a cello sonata (1890) dedicated to his friend.
