Early Life and Career
Jesper Olsen was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, and his footballing journey began at an early age. His exceptional talent caught the attention of scouts from the Belgian club Anderlecht when he was just 17 years old.
Success with Anderlecht
Olsen joined Anderlecht in 1982, and within his first season with the club, he played a crucial role in their triumph in the UEFA Cup. During his time at Anderlecht, Olsen won three consecutive Belgian First Division titles (1984-87), as well as two Belgian Cups (1988, 1989).
International Glory
In 1992, Olsen reached the pinnacle of his career when he helped the Danish national team win the UEFA European Championship. He played a significant role in their stunning victory, but suffered a serious injury in the semi-final match against the Netherlands.
