Early Life and Career

Pedro Miguel Pauleta dos Santos was born on April 28, 1973, in Ponta Delgada, Azores, Portugal. He began his football career at the Benfica youth academy and made his debut with the club's senior team in 1997 at the age of 17.

Transfer to Atlético Madrid

In 1999, Pauleta was transferred to Atlético Madrid. He played in the Primera División, the top tier of Spanish football, for three seasons. However, after Atlético's relegation to the second division, Pauleta moved to Paris Saint-Germain in 2001.

Time at Paris Saint-Germain

With Paris Saint-Germain, Pauleta achieved success both domestically and internationally. He led the club to two Coupe de France finals, scoring a goal in the 2003 final against Auxerre. Pauleta also won the Coupe de France in the 2003/04 season.

Return to Portugal

In 2004, Pauleta returned to Portugal and joined Porto. He spent three seasons with the club, helping them win the Primeira Liga title in 2006 and 2007.
