Early Life and Education

Igor Tertyshny, known under the pen name Iar Elterrus, was born on March 4, 1966, in the village of Kuzhorskaya, in the Maikop district of Russia. His mother was the poetess Raisa Afanasyevna Gladun. At the age of five, Iar Elterrus moved to Ukraine, where he spent his childhood in the village of Zaplavka, Magdalynovsk district, Dnipropetrovsk oblast. He completed his secondary education at the local school and went on to study at the Dnipropetrovsk State University, graduating in 1990 from the Faculty of Radiophysics.

Literary Career

Iar Elterrus began his writing career in 1997, but his works were not published until 2006. He gained notoriety for his controversial BDSM-fantasy novel "The Gray Wastes of Life," which was published online under the pseudonym Rai Surretlel. The novel sparked controversy due to its explicit sexual content.

Publishing and Emigration

From 1992 to 1994, Iar Elterrus led the publishing house "DaiMon." After the company's bankruptcy, he moved to Orsk, a city in the Orenburg Oblast of the Ural region. In 1995, he emigrated to Israel, where he resided until 2008. Upon his return to Russia, Iar Elterrus settled in Saint Petersburg, where he continues to live and write.
