Biography of Igor Krasavin

Igor Krasavin was born in Minsk, Belarus, into a family with no connection to the acting industry. However, a chance encounter led him to the world of cinema. One day, while Igor was riding the subway, director Leonid Nechaev noticed him and realized that he could be the perfect fit for the lead role in the musical fairytale "Do Not Leave." Leonid recalls, "I was in the subway car and suddenly saw this intriguing guy. I started looking at him, and then I noticed that he was blushing! It touched my heart." Igor agreed to the role. At the time, he was a 10th-grade student and a skilled swimmer, holding a 1st adult rank.

Initially, playing the role of Prince Patrick was challenging for Igor. Leonid Nechaev admitted that in the first few shots, Igor was "completely wooden." However, the presence of experienced actors such as Lydia Fedoseeva-Shukshina, Albert Filozov, and Vyacheslav Nevinny, as well as the guitar that Igor had to hold according to the script, helped him to loosen up. As a result, Igor portrayed his character brilliantly. The ironic musical fairytale about a king, a princess, and wandering actors resonated with millions of viewers. Many years have passed, but it is still remembered and loved. What is the secret of its success? Leonid Nechaev explains, "I thought long and hard about the reasons for the success of this film and realized that its main feature lies in its genre - it is a romantic fairytale and, at the same time, a tough dynamic drama. You know, youth tends to be dynamic... And besides, there are magnificent songs in it. This was the last film where I worked with poet Leonid Derbenyov."

After the release of the film "Do Not Leave," Igor Krasavin was catapulted into incredible fame. According to a survey by the magazine "Soviet Screen," Krasavin ranked second in the actors' rating, second only to Dmitry Kharatyan. Numerous love-struck girls wrote letters to Igor, and directors offered him roles, but... Igor Krasavin firmly decided not to tie his fate to the film industry. He declined all the directors' offers. In 1989, Igor Krasavin enrolled at the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute, specializing in hydraulic and road construction. In 1994, he graduated from the Belarusian Polytechnic Academy with a degree in bridges and tunnels.

On August 7, 2009, Igor Krasavin passed away in Minsk after undergoing surgery. He left behind his wife and daughter, Dasha.
