Early Life and CareerIrina Bilyk is a Ukrainian singer, Honored Artist of Ukraine (1996) and People's Artist of Ukraine (2008). She was born on April 6 in Kyiv. From the age of four, Irina started singing, and at the age of five, she began taking dance and ballet classes. Her singing career started at the age of six in the children's vocal ensemble "Sonechko." The ensemble toured throughout the USSR and participated in various musical programs. At the age of seven, she secretly started attending a music studio and learned to play the piano. At the same time, Irina also studied at a theater studio, where her talent was recognized by experts who predicted a successful theatrical future for her. At the age of ten, Irina wrote her first song.
After completing music school, eighteen-year-old Irina Bilyk started teaching music to children and had her own class. In 1989, she enrolled at the Kyiv State Music School named after Gliera, specializing in pop vocals. In the same year, she participated in the festival "Chervona Ruta" and attracted serious attention from industry professionals. However, this was her first and last participation in a competitive event as a performer.
Career with "Cey Doshch Nadolgo"
In 1990, Irina Bilyk met the musicians of the group "Ajax" - Yuri Nikitin, Georgiy Uchaikin, and Jean Bolotov at the "Spring Hopes" festival in Vinnytsia. In July of the same year, they formed a group called "Cey Doshch Nadolgo," which marked the beginning of the Ukrainian show business.
From 1991, Irina Bilyk and "Cey Doshch Nadolgo" started collaborating with the professional creative agency "Rostyslav Show." In 1992, Irina released her first professional music video for the song "Lishe Tvoia." In the same year, she also participated in the "Pesenny Vernisazh. Nova Ukrainska Viuna" international festival and became a laureate.
In 1993, Irina Bilyk and "Cey Doshch Nadolgo" performed as guests at two prestigious events - the "Maria" festival in Truskavets and the First International Festival "Slavianski Bazaar" in Vitebsk. They presented a conceptual music piece called "Nova," which was a groundbreaking achievement in Ukrainian music at the time.
In December 1993, the group "Cey Doshch Nadolgo" transformed into Irina Bilyk's management and founded the "Nova" production agency.
Solo Career and Achievements
In 1994, Irina Bilyk began actively touring Ukraine. At the end of the year, she made her debut as the host of the New Year's television show "Noch Novogodnyaya" (UT-1). In 1995, she was invited by the Information Service of the United States (US Embassy in Ukraine) to participate in the visit program of US President Bill Clinton to Kyiv. During this visit, Irina Bilyk had an audience with Bill and Hillary Clinton.
In the same year, Irina Bilyk embarked on her first concert tour titled "Nova," which became the largest in the history of Ukrainian show business. The tour included a sold-out solo show at the National Palace "Ukraine" with an audience of 3600 people.
In 1996, Irina Bilyk received the title of Honored Artist of Ukraine in honor of the fifth anniversary of Ukraine's independence. She also participated in the "Tavrijski Igrayi" festival and won the prestigious "Golden Firebird" award in the categories "Female Singer of the Year" and "Song of the Year" for her song "Tak Prosto."
In 1997, Irina Bilyk won the grand prize at the "Parad Khit-Paradiv" festival and was named the best female singer of the year. She also had an exhibition dedicated to her by artist Vadim Naydyuk, showcasing 20 paintings featuring Irina Bilyk.
